COVID-19 Hidden Truths

--

There is subjective reality, perception of the reality or simulation, norms and truths. The truths are hidden in plain sight.

We discovered, while working from home — that suddenly — we are not as productive as people thought we are. What’s the rate? 50%?. In that case, wouldn’t we have 50% people too many? Suddenly a 15% layoff would add straight to the bottom line.

We discovered that Zoom “saved” the world. And then it did not, as we found out later — their servers routed through China.

We discovered, while kids staying at home — parents got suddenly multiple job hats — teachers, cleaners, cooks, kid’s friends; on top of the roles parents already had. All those kinds of jobs were there already — maybe not appreciated enough.

We discovered, what the most important function of the “educational conglomerate” was to keep kids out of home, entertained & fed. While the “adults” can pursue whatever.. work, dream, yoga, sleep, clean, repeat..

This bugs me for a long time — if teacher cannot teach herself or himself a gear shift from offline to online — what does it say about the quality and methods of the whole profession? You want me to be on a par level on your subject, while can’t you level up with us..

We discovered, while being voluntary self in-prisoned at home — that we want to spend more time outside; probably more than ever. And we discovered:

We discovered, while being voluntary self in-prisoned at home — that want to touch people more than ever. And that this “no more touching in future” — is pure narrative (pure bullshit).

We discovered, that the Fourth Estate (Media, not all media) are the most powerful of them all apples. More powerful than all branches of government. We knew they could cancel people, hide stories (DISC) however they can also kill without taking any responsibility. We all remember ridiculing the “no handshake” policy, the “stock-piling” jokes, the “just the flu” idiocy, or “the travel ban is non sense”, to say at least.

We discovered, that not everything is the same moving from offline to online. You can’t kiss or touch a person online. The walk in Minecraft is not same as that walk under sun, on a beach or smelling the trees. Those office politics or clients deals is hard to negotiate online than offline. And we suddenly also discovered:

We discovered, that while online world is cool (sending pics & videos from new iPhone), the offline world is both the bottleneck and still looks like 1970s.

We finally discovered the hidden truth of the increasingly complex system of globalisation. The benefits (growth), we knew about and the interconnectivity risks — the pandemic and the strategic supply chain risk emerged. It was hidden, however it was always there. Truth hidden in plain sight, no black swan.

We discovered, what we probably knew already — however we were not fully certain. There is—no single source of truth and no one will come to save us, even in a war. One always have to relay on one’s own & his or her own circle.

We discovered, what we wanted to be more alive than ever — and our biases, opinions and ideologies intensified. Nothing keeps a person alive more than an enemy. Be it government stance, media narratives, opposing ideology or opinion groups.

What I discovered — is that maybe our grandparents & grand-grand parents would solve this hell with just a common sense.

No narratives, no news, no politics, no models — just a pure common sense and survival instincts. Get the food, get the cash & stay put. Occasionaly move your ass to get some sun. And getting a slap for not washing hands..

This is pessimistic..

NO, that’s your perception & your simulation ;-).

We have much better technology than our grandparents were kids..
